We collect your email address (for authentication), resume content you upload or paste, job descriptions you provide, LinkedIn profile URLs or imported LinkedIn profile content when you use the import feature, and usage data to improve the service.
Your resume content and job descriptions are processed to provide resume tailoring, ATS analysis, keyword gap detection, resume previews, file parsing, and LinkedIn import workflows. We may send the minimum necessary content to AI service providers to generate your requested results. We do not sell your data to third parties. Resume content is not used to train AI models without explicit consent.
The MatchCV Chrome extension runs on supported job posting sites only to detect the current job description and help you tailor your resume to that role. Resume text saved in the extension is stored in Chrome local storage on your device. When you request file parsing, LinkedIn import, AI suggestions, ATS checks, or a tailored resume preview, the extension sends the necessary resume text, job description, LinkedIn URL, and current page URL to MatchCV for processing.
Data received from the Chrome extension is used only to provide and improve user-facing resume tailoring, ATS checking, keyword analysis, parsing, LinkedIn import, and preview features. We do not sell extension data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to unrelated third parties. We do not allow humans to read your resume or job content except when necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or support you explicitly request.
Account and resume data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security. Resume content is encrypted at rest. Extension resume drafts stored in Chrome local storage remain on your device unless you send them to MatchCV by using a feature that requires server-side processing.
We use session cookies for authentication. We also use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics (such as page views) that help us improve the service. Analytics data is never linked to your resume content, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your settings page. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
